I understand some of these are pretty over the top with processing needs and some of them even use more than 2gb ram. The one thing I don't have a lot of hands on experience with is the more gargantuan instrument sampling plugins. That machine should be so absurdly over powered for ANY audio work that it would be silly to even question. So I wouldn't be shocked if, for example, it doesn't handle low latency use well. 3rd party interfaces made specifically for studio or live sound needs. I wouldn't expect the Mac's built-in audio interface to be NOT efficient.īut of course the built-in interface seems aimed at basic home theater needs vs. If anybody else has other conclusions, he's welcome :-) I was working (till few month) with Logic Pro which has better performance in 1024 (more tracks and more Acustica Plugin). Then, I think that there no other way to optimize Reaper performance if you want to mix with 1024 Buffer. Because some users said that Reaper doesn't like it so muchĢ- Turbo Boost Switcher off - (with Turbo Boost Switcher) Switch off before launch Reaper but no noticeable change. ![]() I try to use only VST plugins = no change.ġ - Multi-threading off (with Xcode/instruments). ![]() To get better performances, I try to change some settings in Reaper Preferences but without noticeable changes. (But impossible to add new real time midi parts with 1seconde Latency). To avoid all sound issues, the Buffer must be at 4096. With a Buffer at 512, lots of clic and drop. 40 track instruments with Kontakt, 6 Audio tracks, 4 Sub Groups, 3 Reverb, 60 AU/VST Plugin, 4 Acustica plugins on Sub Grp and 2 Acustica plugins on Master track. Original Windows version that came with the computer, that Windows 10ĭoes not support well this hardware, but this is somewhat unlikely.I did lots of tests to increase Reaper performance and I am a bit disappointed. There is the faint possibility that these capabilities worked with the I'm afraid that the conclusion is negative: You have done all that you could Which frankly is not feasible for such an old computer. There is nothing else that you can do except enable them in the BIOS.Īnything more would requires upgrading hardware components such as the motherboard, ![]() That you desire, but they are blocked by one or more other components, The conclusion is that the BIOS is trying to turn on the capabilities HP has no downloads any more for this computer and especially no newer BIOS. The BIOS may be newer and so it had these options available for you to enable, The computer dates from 10 years ago and the CPU is one year older. Functionality, performance, and other benefits of this feature may vary depending on system configuration. Please check with the system vendor to determine if your system delivers this feature, or reference the system specifications (motherboard, processor, chipset, power supply, HDD, graphics controller, memory, BIOS, drivers, virtual machine monitor-VMM, platform software, and/or operating system) for feature compatibility. ‡ This feature may not be available on all computing systems. The side-note adds a lot of conditions that are required to really function: Intel Core i7-720QM Processor 6M Cache, 1.60 GHzĭo mention these capabilities, but with a side-note: ![]()
